Oliver Saffery

Data Analyst

My Work

I am a current Data Analyst and former economic consultant with a background in data analysis and quantitative economic research.

Throughout my career, I have used large, complex datasets to build the economic analyses that support case strategy and drive material outcomes at mediation and in litigation. Using SQL, R, Python, and Stata, I have developed models, exhibits, declarations, and reports that translate raw data into clear, defensible findings. Previous successes include supporting class certification in a major gaming antitrust litigation and valuing influential ad technology used at trial.

At Outten & Golden, I employ this analytical skillset to prove harm and estimate damages across affected persons, classes, and collectives. At the core of my work is a commitment to rigorous, data-driven analysis: taking complicated economic questions and challenging data and turning them into insights that lead to meaningful results for individuals.

My Story

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with legal teams, expert witnesses, and clients on matters involving statistical evidence, economic damages, and large-scale data management. My background combines academic training in economics with practical expertise in multiple analytical tools, enabling me to translate complex data into clear, defensible analyses that support strong case outcomes. I’m drawn to labor and employment because it’s where economic and data analysis has the most direct impact on the lives of individuals. I find purpose in employing data to tell a client’s story accurately and persuasively.

Prior to joining Outten & Golden, I served as a Senior Associate at Secretariat, where I developed economic analyses, exhibits, and financial and legal documents supporting expert witness reports and testimony. Outside of my professional work, I’m a former varsity rower who chases that same discipline through running and biking around New York.
