Economist
Prior to joining O&G, I worked in economic consulting, conducting analyses across a range of industries and developing particular expertise in damages calculations, class certification, and discrimination matters. I have extensive experience working with large and complex datasets and applying econometric, statistical, and computational methods to challenging empirical questions. I received my PhD in Economics from Pennsylvania State University.
I was born and raised in Shanghai, and my education and career have taken me from China to Japan and ultimately to the United States. As an Asian woman and a minority, my own experiences have shaped my awareness of how unequal treatment and systemic barriers can affect people’s opportunities and livelihoods.
I have worked on a racial discrimination matter involving disparities in mortgage approval practices, an experience that deepened my interest in discrimination work. I have also been involved with the AEA Summer Program, mentoring students from underrepresented communities interested in pursuing advanced degrees in economics. These experiences strengthened my commitment to using my skills to promote fairness and expand opportunity.
