Justice, finality, and catharsis look different for everyone, so I make sure to center each client’s goals and let that guide our strategy. My clients describe me as both a fierce advocate and an empathetic listener who understands how hard it can be to come forward.
Discrimination, harassment and retaliation aren’t exclusive to any industry. I often work with clients in finance, law, tech, and media, but I’ve helped all kinds of employees who want to stand up for themselves, from restaurant servers and construction workers to high-profile professionals and executives.
What connects them is they are all dealing with job-threatening, traumatic, and life-altering situations, and they need a dedicated advocate to fight for them.
My clients are already brave. I help them level the playing field and make sure they have access to fairness and justice.
I never accept inequality and bias as normal or necessary.
That sense of fairness and justice comes directly from my parents, both of whom were active in the San Francisco racial justice and women’s rights movements. They raised me to speak out, speak up, and challenge the idea that we should just accept things the way they are.
My career has always centered around civil rights for marginalized populations, including working to exonerate wrongfully-convicted clients at the Innocence Project, representing victims of police misconduct, and advocating for humane medical care in California’s prisons.
I began addressing employment discrimination issues following my judicial clerkships, and I’m enormously proud to be able to advocate for the rights and dignity of working people.
