I understand that facing discrimination, harassment, and other illegal practices in the workplace is often highly stressful. An unexpected change in employment can be devastating. With that in mind, I aim to provide empathetic and client-centered advocacy.
Much of my work to date has focused on securing justice for victims of harassment and discrimination based on their sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or race. Illegal workplace practices, however, can come in many forms, and I am here to challenge them all. I have experience representing individuals as well as large classes of people in both negotiations and litigation, from the trial court to the U.S. Supreme Court. No matter the context, I exercise careful judgment to secure the best possible outcomes for my clients.
Before going to law school, I spent years working in a domestic violence shelter and facilitating domestic violence support groups in women’s prison. Those experiences showed me firsthand just how many structural barriers individuals often face in pursuing employment, housing, and education. I went to law school in hopes of helping to dismantle those barriers and create a more just world. And throughout my legal career, that is what I have aimed to do.
As a student at Yale Law School, I sued the federal government on behalf of thousands of veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder who unfairly received less-than-Honorable discharges, which blocked their access to critical veterans’ benefits. After law school, I served as a law fellow in Public Justice’s Students’ Civil Rights Project, where I litigated cases on behalf of students who experienced harassment and discrimination at school. I joined O&G to continue advocating for those who have faced unfair treatment—this time, in the workplace.
