My Legal Practice

I work with individuals who are encountering difficulties in the workplace due to unfair pay practices and discrimination on the parts of their employers.

I’m a pragmatic and efficient lawyer who strives to communicate effectively with clients of all kinds. I take the time to break down complicated topics for people who may not understand the law or their rights. I also draw on my personal experience in hostile workplaces to connect emotionally with people who have been through their own difficult experiences.

I have a special interest in disability rights. I guide clients in managing disability factors in the workplace and help them seek appropriate accommodations so they can be successful at work.

People with disabilities too often resort to putting up with a workplace issue rather than speaking up. A conversation with an attorney can help because, depending on their goals, that may be able to use disability law in a strategic way to further their best interests.

Notable Cases

  • Representing a respected neuro oncologist who alleges discrimination based on gender and age, as well as retaliation after raising said issues to her employer, a medical institution.
  • Representing an over-60 technology salesperson in a wrongful termination case that alleges age and disability discrimination by his employer, a technology services provider.
  • Part of the team representing the senior executive of a medical institution who alleges gender discrimination and breach of contract after having been terminated shortly after the arrival of a new CEO.

Credentials

  • B.Phil., University of Pittsburgh
  • J.D., Harvard Law School
  • Admitted to practice law in New York

My Story

All my life I’ve been someone who questions rules and why they’re enforced the way they are. It always seemed that people operate under a set of rules they didn’t quite consciously acknowledge or understand. My sense was that, someday, getting a law degree might let me learn about the rules.

I went to law school and set my sights on employment law. I am extremely happy to be at Outten & Golden, where I’m part of a team that fights for people’s right to fair treatment and pay.
