My Legal Practice

At work, we cultivate so much of our identity, self-worth, and purpose. In my 25 years of practice, I’ve seen firsthand how devastating it is to have that identity threatened. I strive to level the playing field, marshalling my knowledge, experience, tenacity and compassion to secure the best results for clients navigating the tricky terrain of employment disputes.

Cases on which I’ve worked have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in settlements, whistleblower awards, and judgments covering the full spectrum of employment law.

Across industries including finance, tech, retail and healthcare, I represent employees and large employee groups tackling highly charged workplace disputes related to discrimination, harassment, sexual assault, wrongful termination, contract issues, and whistleblower retaliation. I regularly face off against corporate behemoths and their formidable counsel, with significant resources and experience in the boardroom and in the courtroom. I make every effort to resolve disputes amicably to avoid protracted litigation. When a negotiated settlement isn’t possible, I am a tireless advocate, successfully taking on some of the largest Fortune 500 employers and white-shoe financial institutions to secure the justice my clients deserve.

I established the firm’s Whistleblower & Retaliation Practice, one of the nation’s first, which has developed alongside statutory frameworks such as Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank that radically changed the rights and protections available to employees who report wrongdoing. Ultimately, this work has led to several precedent-setting awards, including identifying a $263 million IRS tax fraud recovery—the largest in history—and the SEC’s first-ever fine against an employer based on a retaliation claim. In these and other successes, my clients have helped to shed the stigma of reporting misconduct, while ushering in a new era of accountability in corporate America.

Too often, whistleblowers who come forward to report corporate misconduct—protecting other employees, company culture, customers and investors at large—face aggressive and patently illegal retaliation. Know this: I have more than 25 years’ experience successfully defending employees’ rights and interests. Whistleblowers are crucial to the integrity of the corporate markets and a functional democracy. They deserve tireless advocacy and protection.

My Story

I like to think that the desire for justice and the passion to pursue it are written in a person’s DNA—and it definitely is a part of mine. Even as a child I knew that fairness mattered. That it was worth fighting for.

Today, as a skilled negotiator, I work tirelessly to champion my clients’ interests. That might mean advocating for employee groups following a mass layoff; negotiating an employee out of a toxic work environment; or litigating against a major healthcare company for retaliating against a valued employee. Whatever shape winning takes, if it’s a financial settlement or a courtroom victory, doing the right thing for my clients is everything.
