My Legal Practice

My clients come from every walk of life, and almost every type of profession. All of them come to me looking for the same thing – a tenacious advocate who will stand by their side and aggressively fight for their interests.

My clients include women dealing with pay equity issues, individuals who have suffered from discrimination and retaliation, working moms who struggle to keep their careers on track after taking leave, women dealing with sexual harassment at work, and employees experiencing a range of nuanced and related issues. My clients are also partners and executives, who need an experienced advocate to review and negotiate their offer letters and exit agreements, and handle their compensation disputes.

Often, we’re able to resolve matters early and without filing litigation, using counseling, negotiation, and mediation. Other times, we need to bring the fight to the employer. I’m more than comfortable doing that. In fact, I thrive in the courtroom and have obtained high-profile verdicts and pre-trial settlements in individual and class action cases.

In total, I’ve helped secure more than $350 million for my clients, including by frequently challenging the discriminatory way women and people of color are hired, paid, reviewed, and promoted at work. On this issue, I’ve helped thousands of employees at JPMorgan Chase, Google, Mastercard, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and other large companies and firms. Just as importantly, my work has led employers to change their practices, in ways that benefit wide swaths of employees that otherwise would have suffered.

My Story

I joined Outten & Golden while still in law school, as one of the firm’s earliest hires. After diving in, it quickly became apparent that employment law was a powerful tool that could help me fight for what I believe in. More than 20 years later, I am still fighting that fight.

In our culture, we derive a significant part of our identity from what we do for a living. The nature of work is also changing every day, and employees need strong advocates more than ever. If I can root out discrimination or harassment, or negotiate for better employment terms, I have a chance to meaningfully improve someone’s work experience – and maybe their life. That’s important to me, and it drives me to excel for my clients, every day.
