My Legal Practice

My practice focuses on class and collective actions, fighting for workers who have experienced wage theft or discrimination by their employers.

I litigate these cases in federal courts nationwide as well as in the California state courts, where I have significant complex litigation experience, including in complex coordinated actions (JCCP) and Private Attorney General Act (PAGA) cases.

Representative actions are critical tools for holding large employers accountable for systemic violations they commit that harm employees.

I’m passionate about working on these cases because I can help people recover what’s owed to them, while also sanctioning employers for their unlawful practices and pressuring them to change those practices. These cases move us closer to equality and fairness at work.

Notable Cases

  • Represented The California Civil Rights Department in reaching a historic $54.8 million settlement with Activision Blizzard, resolving allegations of gender discrimination in compensation, promotions and other practices.
  • Represented a group of current and former Senior Premier Bankers in reaching a $48.5 million settlement with Wells Fargo, in a lawsuit alleging the company misclassified them as exempt from overtime requirements and failed to pay overtime wages.
  • Represented delivery drivers in a class action against a nationwide transportation, shipping and logistics service provider, alleging the company misclassified drivers as independent contractors and denied minimum wages, overtime payments, and expense reimbursement.
  • Representing misclassified drivers for Uber and Lyft, alongside state government agencies, who are seeking full compensation for their work.
  • Representing plaintiffs in Mandala v. NTT Data, a class action challenging the company’s use of criminal records to deny jobs to qualified Black applicants.
  • Representing detainees in a federal immigrant detention center in a class action against the private company that operates the facility, the GEO Group, alleging detainees were forced to work for $1 or less per day under threat of solitary confinement.

My Story

Many people go above and beyond at work to prove themselves, yet fair treatment seems constantly out of reach. Or they work extra hours but never get paid for them. Bad experiences at work affect people in all aspects of their life, from their finances to their mental health and well-being.

I found my way into employment law because workers need an advocate who will listen to them, acknowledge their struggles, and fight for them when their employers take advantage of them with illegal practices that damage them and their colleagues.
