January 22, 2024 – Outten & Golden LLP, the largest U.S. law firm focused exclusively on the representation of employees, once again earned Law360’s practice group of the year distinction for 2023. This annual award honors five of the country’s top management and employee-side employment law firms. Outten & Golden was recognized for several major victories in 2023, including:
- A historic $215 million gender discrimination class action settlement with Goldman Sachs, involving 2,800 of Goldman Sachs’ female associates and vice presidents. The settlement is one of the largest discrimination settlements in U.S. history, and the third-largest gender bias settlement of any kind on record.
- A $1.15 million verdict for Ulku Rowe, a female Google Cloud executive who alleged that the technology company hired her at a lower salary level than similarly situated male peers, overlooked her for a promotion, and retaliated against her for raising complaints and filing a discrimination lawsuit. The award included $1 million in punitive damages, as well as $150,000 in compensatory damages.
