December 7, 2023 – The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, one of the country’s preeminent racial justice organizations, today honored Outten & Golden managing partner Adam T. Klein with its Whitney North Seymour Award. This prestigious award is given to Lawyers’ Committee board members who exemplify the legacy of service and integrity characterized by Mr. Seymour – a celebrated jurist and former president of the American Bar Association.
As a past co-chair (2018-2020) and longtime member of the Lawyers’ Committee board, Adam has aided in defining the Committee’s mission, and ensuring it has the resources to continue its important work. In accepting the award, which was presented to him by fellow board member Jane C. Sherburne, Adam called today one of the most important moments in American history, both for the Lawyers’ Committee, all lawyers, and citizens as a whole: “It’s our job to support the rule of law and a civil society, ensure access to the ballot box, and not subvert the constitution – and our job to understand this moment, and stand up and be present.”
