In Haggan v. Google, female Google employees in New York alleged that the company violated New York City, New York state, and federal equal pay and anti-discrimination laws by treating women less favorably than their male counterparts regarding pay, leveling, promotion, and performance calibration.
Google denied the allegations. The New York Supreme Court, Kings County, did not rule on the merits of the plaintiffs’ claims.
The employees secured a $20 million settlement to resolve their class and collective action lawsuit against Google. Female employees who held a Level 3-7 position in New York between October 15, 2014 and November 21, 2022 were eligible to become class members.
