NEW YORK, NY—The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) and co-counsel Outten and Golden LLP of New York will announce the filing of a class action complaint against a national insurance company. The complaint alleges that company has a practice of denying jobs to certain immigrants, which violates the Civil Rights Act of 1866 and a 2012 presidential executive order known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). The company rescinded a job offer to an honors student who is now seeking to represent a class of claimants.
