Julia Murphy is of counsel at Outten & Golden LLP and she works in the New York and Westport, Connecticut offices. Ms. Murphy is a member of the firm's Executives & Professionals Practice Group. Prior to joining Outten & Golden, Ms. Murphy was Vice President and Associate General Counsel for employment law at TIAA-CREF, a financial services firm in New York, where she managed the firm’s employment law and human resources legal issues. She was also an associate at Stephen Horner & Associates in Norwalk, CT primarily representing employees. Ms Murphy worked in the Legal Studies Program at Fairfield University and taught courses on legal studies and business law. She began her legal career as a corporate associate at Tyler Cooper & Alcorn in New Haven, CT.

Ms. Murphy received her B.A. magna cum laude from Mount Holyoke College and her J.D. from New York University School of Law. Before attending law school, Ms. Murphy obtained her Series 7 securities license and was a registered representative for a major brokerage firm.

Ms. Murphy is admitted to the bars of New York, Connecticut, U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut.
