Deborah McKenna

DEBORAH McKENNA is Of Counsel at Outten & Golden LLP. She works out of the firm’s Stamford, Connecticut office. Ms. McKenna is a member of the firm’s Sexual Harassment and Disability and Family Responsibility Practice Groups. Prior to joining Outten & Golden, Ms. McKenna was a partner at plaintiff’s side labor and employment firm Livingston, Adler, Pulda, Meiklejohn and Kelly, P.C. in Hartford, CT. Throughout her career, Ms. McKenna has represented employees in a wide range of employment issues, ranging from severance negotiations and non-competition litigation to discrimination and labor matters. Ms. McKenna has a strong commitment to advancing the legal rights of women in the workplace and devotes much of her practice to representing women in sexual harassment, gender discrimination, pregnancy discrimination and Family and Medical Leave Act cases.

Ms. McKenna is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut and United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. She has represented employees at every level of the process and litigated in a wide variety of administrative agencies and judicial venues.

Ms. McKenna is a frequent panelist on employment law matters. She is also an active member of Connecticut Bar Association’s Young Lawyers’ Section, where she has served on the Executive Committee for the past five years. For the past three years, Ms. McKenna has worked as Member Service Project Coordinator, which is project that provides programming for attorneys on work-life balance issues. In addition, Ms. McKenna is a member of the Labor and Employment, Federal Practice, and Women and the Law Sections of the Young Lawyers Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, the Middlesex County Bar Association, the Connecticut Employment Lawyers Association and the National Employment Lawyers Association.

Ms. McKenna received her B.A. from Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut in 1993 and her J.D. with honors from the University of Connecticut in Hartford, Connecticut in 1996.
